School Uniform

Expectations for school uniform..

*We request that the children wear at least one branded item of school uniform where possible.

The school colour is red and there is a simple school uniform which children are encouraged to wear.
Grey pinafore dress or skirt.
Grey or black trousers or shorts.
Red gingham type checked dress.
Polo shirt with or without school logo.
White blouse/ Shirt.
Red cardigan, sweater or v neck jumper with or without school logo.
Red fleece /jacket.
Expectations for swimming kit are set by the pool swimming coaches and will be communicated with parents prior to sessions starting each year. (Currently Year 4)
Black practical shoes or boots. Fashion shoes, footwear with flashing lights, high heels, backless sandals, crocs are not permitted on grounds of safety and practicality. Trainers are for PE only and not every day wear.
Outdoor coat- we rarely have wet breaks at Jesse Gray!
We advise children with long hair to wear it tied back at school for safety and head lice prevention. This must be done for PE.
PE Kit is white T- shirt, black shorts, dark coloured plain tracksuit for the colder months, plimsolls and trainers. These are to be kept in a named PE bag. Jesse Gray Team clothing is available to purchase during the year.
Jewellery is not permitted except for watches. (Not smart watches) Earrings are not encouraged, but if worn must be small plain studs. These should not be worn on PE or swimming days.
Children are required to have wellies in school all year round and are compulsory at break times from October to March.
Children are required to wear school hats outside from March until October. Foundation / Key Stage 1 wear a legionnaire style hat, Key Stage 2 can choose to wear a baseball style cap.

Useful Information...

OUTDOOR COAT - all children require a warm, waterproof outdoor coat

LONG HAIR - we advise children with long hair to wear it tied back at school for safety or head lice prevention reasons. They must do this for PE and swimming (required by swimming pool) please note also that swimming pool regulations require a one piece swimming costume for girls.

APRONS - Children in KS1 need aprons or an old shirt for art and craft activities. Older children also find these useful.

Please ensure all clothing is marked with the child's name, 400+ red sweatshirts all look the same!!
